Just beat me to it, and it's good news for those of us booked on the 22nd, and also confirms thought that a '5' is not up to the task, and lets thank RTC for now giving those who want the choice of motive power, the chance to book the appropriate date.

Not claiming credit for the picture, but it is one of those that works...

A dream come true for so many who had hoped for 46115 to be involved on WCME's last year. It might be 2014 but here is your chance! 5699 to Start off the Series. I hope Galatea gets the 3rd one as well.

Nice bit of film - pity you just missed Les Nixon falling off the wall in your sequence but you captured the main event !

Interesting that the tractive effort of the Scot at 33150 lb is slightly above that of that old war-horse 4472 (at 32910 lb) and just below that of the trusty V2 (at 33730 lb) and above that of the Brits (at 32150 lb)

The duo of 61264 leading and 45407 went through Blackrod a minute or so down looking good. No headboard and a pleasant dawn sky.[IMG]

And all three are well below the much smaller K4 at 36,598lb. But T.E. Is no real guide to the amount of h.p. achievable. And this is where the steam locomotive starts to become even more interesting.

Great clips. Only a personal view, of course, but a big train double headed really does provide the kind of spectacle that Shap (and Ais Gill) both deserve. It strikes me that this is also a surefooted way of getting over both without any fuss.

Impressive. Find the right location, set the scene up, keep the camera still and let the subject matter do the talking. Sometimes simple is best which is not to say that getting to the location is simple!

Thanks Al, the weather played its part in choice and set up today with it being so blustery at Shap and Birkitt .
