Some more tours posted on VT website. The Midlander non-stop from New Street to Euston on 28 June has caught my eye, especially as its a unique run that is below the £100 mark.

The Duchess non stop looks like one to book for me, did the route with Lizzie a couple of years back, but that does add a considerable sweetner to do it again.

Sadly it seems that not even VTL could work their magic to get a non stop run all the way down the main as it'll be going via Northampton and not Kilsby.

Shame but not unexpected, short of 86259 or unsociable hours, tours via Weedon will be few and far between, be interesting to try and go non stop through Northampton with all the LM shunting and coupling moves that go on there.

Apparently yes as this is what the VTL office said today when I booked on 1Z48. The proper route south of Rugby would be quite a USP for this trip although it makes one's brain hurt just thinking about how Virgin and Midland might be able to keep anything rolling non stop between Brum and Eustorn, never mind doing it with steam. But I have to say that if anyone can pull it off it would probably only be VTL. So if there is more water to go under the bridge on this one, then good luck with the discussions and I'll be on it if you can get the Weedon/Kilsby route.

I'd probably do it anyway. Have to see what the financial situation is closer to the time, as I'm booking up on tours like there's no tomorrow at the moment...

That goes for me too, though in my case a further consideration is the timing; whether one can get from the London area to Brum in the morning to avoid a night away.

A path on the main line instead of Northampton won't be easy, but significant icing on the cake if it can be done.

We are looking at a New Street depatrure of between 09:30 and 10:00....you should be able to get up to Brum from London in time.

UPDATE - Cumbrian Ranger with No: 4464 "Bittern" - 15th March.

We were showing sold out with this one, but have added a third TSO so we have another 64 Standard seats....well we have just 40 seats left as I just went through the waiting list.

According to UKSteam the Valentines Dinner is no longer to Gloucester but now to Castle Donington.

Got my tickets through for the Chiltern Champion Part 2 tour this Sunday. The letter that came with the tickets states the departure time to be 12:30. However, Real Time Trains and timings on gen groups show it to be a 12:40 departure. Is it actually 12:30 and a mistake on RTT's side or an effort by VT to ensure everyone is at Marylebone in time?

The latter. They always do it. Presumably Uncle Arthur insists.

Any chance you can add a first class compartment to the Whistling Ghost tour in June ? We travel at least 3 times a year with VT and always get a compartment !
