West Coast have announced a series of steam hauled trains in association with the Ryder cup running Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th September from Edinburgh Waverley to Gleaneagles via Glasgow. Looks interesting, any guesses on traction?

It did but this will be a Cl.47 or 57, not steam. Sorry to disappoint.

Sounds like WCRC are providing additional services for the duration of the event, they have done likewise for the Cheltenham Festival a few years ago.

Its a bit different to just an extra service. The Cheltenham trains were for Central Trains so normal tickets were valid rather than what appear to be premium services for the Ryder Cup.
