Ever fancied becoming a volunteer?
Well here is your chance!

 

This is our first Model and Miniature event of the year. On display will be various different model railways of different gauges and era's. Also we will have a selection of locomotives running on our miniature railways.

In addition to all this, the centres usual attractions will be running.

We still have space for more Model Railways and Miniature Locomotives for this event! If you are interested in exhibiting something please contact us at info@crewehc.co.uk.

By Attending this event you are helping restore one of our resident class 47s, 47192 to working order; so why not come along?

The Crewe Heritage Centre is proud to announce its 2014 DRS weekend in conjunction with Direct Rail Services.

The Centre will host up to 4 DRS locomotives on display (Subject to availability), Plus our own Diesel fleet working on brakevan rides.

Also a sneak preview of the DB Schenker Nameplates which are up for sale in April's Railwayana Auction.

The Centre's own attractions will also be running including:

*APT-P Tilting Demos
*Miniature Railway
*Model Railways
*Signal Boxes Operating

Come along and enjoy our First Diesel Weekend of 2014, where our Fleet of Heritage Locomotives will be running on our Brakevan and Driver Experience turns all weekend.

All Proceeds from this event goes toward the restoration of our Class 47 #D1842.

Give her the Train Drivers Experience!!!

Give mum the gift to remember at The Crewe Heritage Centre, upon her visit she will receive flowers and a box of chocolates.

She will then be allowed to take control of a full size Diesel
Locomotive and our miniature railway under the supervision of our trained staff. You are then free to explore the rest of
the Heritage Centre.

The Heritage Centre plays host to a selection of vintage buses on display and will include trips around the local area.

All other Crewe Heritage attractions will be open.

Driver Experience Day
12th April
Ever wanted to live that childhood dream, of becoming a train driver? Well now you can, join us for a day of fun and excitement. No pre-booking is required. Package includes; 03073, 73006 and Miniature Railway locomotives. At a incredibly low cost of £35.00.

 

Stuck on something to do this weekend? Were open for 4 Days so why not bring the kids down to the Crewe Heritage Centre? We have a weekend of fun and excitement for all the family, from Easter Egg hunts to Driver Experience. There is something for everyone so come along and treat the kids to a day of excitement.

Also on offer for the over 18's will be driver experience on our full size trains, and for the kids Miniature Railway driver experience.

37603 will also be on static display over the weekend.

It looked as though there were a couple of locos in light steam outside the centre today. Was on a fast train so couldn't see what they were; looked like a rebuilt Bulleid without tender… any idea what they might have been?

2nd one may have been Q6 if there was 2 in light steam. But at high speed a rebuilt bulleid with out tender does look like a 9f. Black Princes tender is at the Nnr still.

 

It was 9F 92203 Black Prince and 60163 Tornado were in Steam and Q6 63395 was lit up later this afternoon.

 

Can some kind person advise me when Tornado moved to Crewe ? I missed this on uksteam.info !
