Cancelled (again) due to engineering works.

Yes its always the North ones that get cancelled , like Tornado on the S&C, and now this again,I think N/R do it on purpose as they dont want steam!!!!

Surely it would be easier for 4932 to do the double heading with 5231 vice Riley's five...

Good replacements, shame this tour clashes with Bitterns run over the S&C.

You'd think so but maybe 4932 is unavailable.

may be it is going to be required at Southall for the longer term given Tangmere is still not fixed and Oliver Cromwell is now out of action.

Is it known whether Tangmere remains unfit or quarantined?

Unfit as far as I am aware, the bits that require repairing I am informed are at Carnforth whilst the engine remains at Southall

I've just phoned the RTC office. They say that as far as they know the trip will be as advertised, and if it does change they will tell us. I am booked on it, partly for the sake of the Euston-Bletchley-Bedford route, so if Ealing and Midland Main Line is confirmed I will probably cancel.

And what they have said will undoubtedly be true. What sometimes happens is that the office is the last to be told what is going on. That's not a criticism of the RTC necessarily but it is an observation about the communication chain from the TOC to the front of house at the RTC.

How often does steam traverse the Dudding Hill Line? Must be pretty rare surely.
