Video of move at Yaxley. If the barometer has been rock steady for 24 hours, how come it was so windy?

Remind me again, what's the difference between a rebuilt WC and a rebuilt MN ?

No, that's the difference between rebuilt and original.

Quite a lot of weight, for one thing. MN has 22t on each axle, the "light" pacific is about 18t as built or 19t rebuilt. The differences include size of boiler, size of firebox, overall length. You need to get your eye in to see the differences - rather like Hall/Grange, King/Castle, LNER A1/A2. If all else fails, look at the shape of the nameplate - especially if you're trying to spot a WC from a BB!

When they were everywhere on the Southern, it was usually possible for the trained eye to spot if an approaching rebuilt was a MN or WC/BB because of the slightly different boiler size.

Correct. Clan Line was an early adopter of air brakes. It was decided to locate the kit in a readily accessible position and it all now sits behind doors at the back of the tender. Other locos have it located between the frames, exhausting through the chimney. Neater but not so easy when things go wrong. Other less attractive locations that solve the access problem are at the front - witness Tangmere - practical but ugly.

But just to confuse things, steam from the rear of the tender on 46233 is from the coal pusher......

Indeed. Fireman of the Southern needed no extra help to do their job compared with the LMS softees.;)
