Indeed; brilliant news once more and a cheerful start to 2014 for 82045, which is looking more like a complete locomotive with each passing month now!

Thank you for the January update - as always full of news and progress.

Although the photographs of the wheels being introduced to their axles by smiling humans was fascinating, I was rather taken by the fourth photograph. In one small area I noticed a horn guide, flexible stay, spring hanger and I assume the jig for axle location fitted to a horn clip. All items covered in recent monthly updates. It's always fascinating to see these important items, before they are obscured as construction continues.

Sorry to see the Standard two lads forced to join the Standard three chaps in having to work in the great outdoors. What is it about the Standards ! The Bridgnorth 82045 chaps do have the small advantage of having already developed webbed feet, their own small shed to shelter from the worst - takes eight grown men at a (big) push, a concrete base and the potential for a tarpaulin cover to be fitted to their overhead gantry.

No point in worrying about the weather when there is the small matter of a loco to be built. Good news about the rear pony truck frame pattern.

Excellent progress on both engines, but somewhat sad to read about 84030 ejected back outside and having to try and protect their loco parts from deterioration in a somewhat hostile environment of loco ash. Come on Bluebell, a helping hand for them please!

Sadly recent storms mean we've had a net reduction in under-cover space! It would be nice if all disassembly and assembly of all projects could take place under cover, and also all locos be kept under cover, but it will be a while yet. Workl on Camelot and the dismantling of Stowe are also taking place outside. :-(

Wheels almost ready to mount the chassis on then? Should I say the loco is nearly... ready to roll?

To hear how accurate this may or may not be, together with progress on the boiler and other fronts, the 82045 Locomotive Trust hold their AGM at Kidderminster Railway Museum on Saturday, 5th April at 14.00 hours. All welcome, members and non-members.
