Didn't hear many people complaining about the Land Rover! It's not as though it's a conventional gala where you're going to have to wait an hour for the next train... Furthermore, who says it's a steam gala? The website lists the events as 'enthusiasts days'. Another vote for a bit of diesel action here! (But will be back regardless)

Actually three - two Type JDT, 5800/1954 (Green) and 6137/1958 (Maroon), both re-gauged from 3'0" to 2'0", and the smaller ex-Standard Gauge Type DLC6 1891/1924 which is also green and which to me looks more like an armoured bullion truck (as seen in historic newsreel films) than a locomotive!

It was certainly a grand day on Saturday - it is a privilege to volunteer at Statfold.

    Regards,

    Mark

Thanks Ian, very useful. Does anyone know the wheelbase, it looks about 5 american feet to me.

A bit of fun, with the upcoming photo charter on the horizon. Gutted I cannot go, especially for such a worthy cause.
