Braunton having another go round Kent today - hope to catch it later on

 

Went to Ravensbourne as it was scheduled via the Catford loop, in time to see it pass by in the distance on the down Main. Got a very distant shot which is better than being able to hear it, but not even see it. Don't know why it was diverted.

 

Looked good at Canterbury West.

 

And bravely, without a box on the back. Hardly the Golden Arrow tho, no arrow and no flags.

 

And no Pullmans either. You got lucky there with the unit.

 

Absolutely magnificent, it really blasted up the bank towards Martin Mill!

Hand held so excuse the shakiness and the talkative fellow watcher!

11th June 1961, the very last steam working. Drifting down into Bromley South.

I was in short trousers, (very rare for Yetis), and was wielding a Brownie 127. And it was a rather dull evening!

But it's a photo I still value.

 

My video filmed at Chelsfield, Chartham and Sandling.

The first clip at Chelsfield features a well known Forum member in action. First, a rear view, followed later by a full frontal.

 

Thought my moment of fame had come, I was on the footplate at Chelsfield.

 

You weren't responsible for the wonderful performance at Sandling by any chance?

 

No, I was just part of the support crew, and that happened to be part of my stint on the footplate.
