Just through Dawlish at 18-00, so about 20 down. Could hear him accelerating away from the "breach" slack all the way to Dawlish Warren on the webcam.

I just got home from work in time to watch this on the computer. That was an awesome piece of acceleration away from the slack. Roll on the RTC trip on the 19th. Looking forward to travelling with 60007 again. It's been a while since my last run with her.

Modest ambition with what was attempted has given two very nice and very watchable sequences of video film. Very steady camera support and gentle pans.

    Thank you.

Thank you. I look back at some of my older videos and cringe at them. I don't usually try anything clever now.

And that's just being smart - hence the watchable quality.

As an amusing aside, the BBC South West reporter speaking on the footplate of 60007 at Kingswear commented that an identical locomotive (Mallard...) had set the land speed record more than 70 years ago.

I doubt the likes of Segrave and Campbell would agree...

Thanks, I did get a journey on it, but not quite the one I intended. Ended up coming back from Paignton as far as Exeter so got the sea wall stretch. The train was packed with only 3 coaches allocated to Std Class. Marcus R did me a good deal on the fare so with the sun shining, and some nice ales behind me, it all glued together rather well, : )

Have to say, I was rather sorry to have to leave at Exeter SD, but had a prior commitment I couldn't break.

60007 was truly "on song" Great considering how little main line work she's had. As 4498 I kind of cut my main line steam teeth behind that machine in the late 80s so it was great to be back behind my favourite A4 again.

From the modest and unambitious, to the ambitious, blurry and shaky.

But hey, this is more than a steam train, this is news - I bet Steam Dreams are licking their lips at such publicity that came their way purely by chance in effect.

And yes I know I got the date wrong but its too late to change it now.

And the not so ambitious return at White Ball.

The 25 was added ahead of 60007 just north of Goodrington for the run to Churston where 60007 was removed. The 25 then worked the train down to Kingswear and provided assistance on the rear back to Paignton.

Bad as the main line then. At least the P&DR (or whatever they are called now) could provided a steam pilot.
