    I can only guess that the various ICI sites along the banks of the Mersey at Runcorn have changed a lot over the years as I can't recall any bordering on terraced housing. Maybe the works have expanded obliterating such buildings. It could be that the photo was taken near the exchange point with the mainline which is near Runcorn station around which there is some terraced housing.

    Thanks again for the information. The ICI or other chemical works in the Widnes/Runcorn area connection is interesting. I've tried re-scanning the plate, not much improvement I'm afraid, maybe someone will recognize the shape and length of the words! upload_2014-4-17_20-13-28.png
