Yes, that's the plan. More details on Ian Riley's forum, "The Works".

Even though I'm not doing it, having been to Oban before, it is a shame as there's quite a few things to do. The distillery is quite impressive, as is the park inside McCaig's tower. There's also one or two decent pubs and a nice walk along the quayside.

I hope that the steam purists are not too upset about Day 1/2 in respect of the S&C. If UK Steam is correct it seems that a DL will be attached at Hellifield today so that may mean it will be an assisted climb to Ais Gill especially if they truncate the water stop at Hellifield as implied by the RTT update. And tomorrow is DL anyway.

As a Duchess on the southern part of the WCML is pretty rare, I ventured to South Kenton to see her before work. More or less spot on time and looked very smart - here is a poor quality phone video -

There were quite a few of us at South Kenton which is fairly risky as the chances of getting bowled are reasonably high, but we got away with it this time! Not quite as much chuff as I was hoping for, but still an impressive sight. Surprised that the train seemed fairly empty - more must be joining further north.

A quick look at RTT shows this running 54 early.... a 29 minute stop at Rugby was cut to 2 minutes and 22 minutes at High Oaks Junc seems to have been omitted altogether????

Taking water at Nuneaton instead. I missed it due to early running :-(

 I was on my way to Lichfield TV and noticed the 54 early and gave up and headed home. Then I get home and see it stopped at Nuneaton instead. Sods law strikes again.

Points failure at Rugby was apparently the reason for the change to the water stop.

Looked and sounded good through Church Brampton near Long Buckby. Would've been even better if it had been 5 seconds earlier or later, and actually passed in sun! Oh well, guess I used up all my luck on GBVII last week!

I had to smile when I noticed that the guy in the first shot sitting reading a newspaper or whatever, never even looked up as
    the Duchess went past!

Suspect that may be a false report, as it's not shown up anywhere else yet.

The Duchess blowing its top at Watford Junction, as its checked by a single amber aspect (changing to double) behind the Euston to Tring stopper.
