Latest railway mag says 61994 has been hired to cover until 13065 is fit for traffic.

Blimey, how many years has that tied up the K4 For? 13065 seems to have been "six months away" since time immemorial!

Not quite as long as that surely? "Time immemorial" is defined as 1189 which is the dawn of legal memory!

    Apologies for facetiousness

... a couple of years after 35006 was first supposed to be in steam then??!! :D (sorry!)

I thought that 1189 was "Sir William Gray" not "Time immemorial", which sounds a good name for a racehorse...and I suppose 4472's overhaul

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with BR liveries, I think the lined black looks good on many locos, however it is my opinion that the more attractive pre-BR liveries are overlooked.
But when all's said & done what really matters is that 13065 (probably the only Crab that will run again) is close to steaming once again.

13065 has today successfully passed its steam test, and has moved under its own power.

    Couldn't agree more!

And I'm particularly pleased with the choice of livery.

    Fantastic !

Wouldn't it be nice if maybe the ELR could hire a couple of LMS coaches (say from the SVR) for a gala to pair with it for a weekend :)

More likely the loco hired to svr some years hence if there is a reciprocal of mutual benefit.

There's an LMS coach being gradually restored at Bury. Put that and the stove van at the head of a rake of maroon mark 1s and get some front 3/4 shots on a photo charter and you'll never know:)

Excellent that she's nearing the finish, that crimson livery works suprisingly well

Surely you mean the other way around. The SVR LMS coaches are Period 3 built in the late 30s and later. with 3 Porthole brakes built by BR.
The livery the loco is carrying would pre date the SVR Stanier coaches.
