West Coast Railways gala at the Mid Norfolk Railway 30th May to 1st June

46115, 45699 and 48151 + stock has left Steamtown Carnforth and is waiting time to head this way... the weather forecast is excellent for the weekend so hopefully we'll have a fantastic 3 days.

Glad to hear they made it ok. Does anyone know if they face Dereham or Wymondham? By my reckoning, they should be facing Dereham?

I must stress though that my knowledge of this part of the network is decidedly poor, so I might be completely wrong!

45699 has not worked a train yet although now in steam and crew on footplate.

Carpark at Dereham full by 9.00am this morning( first train at 10.00 am).

Enjoyable day so far.

 

The Mid Norfolk/West Coast Railways bonanza is in full swing, the visiting loco's are simply immense - LMS Royal Scot 46115 ‘Scots Guardsman, LMS Jubilee 45699 ‘Galatea and LMS 8F 48151.

Apologies for keeping asking but I was considering visiting on the Sunday but there doesn't appear to be any bus times still?

Is it known how often these are running?

45699 worked the 3.00 pm and probably the last train( left after the previous one).

 

45699 worked to round trips in the afternoon. All locos in fine fettle this morning. Weather has been fantastic so far.

Kieran - as I understand there is a bus meeting every train coming in from Ely. So if you come from norwich, you will at most have a 10-15 minute wait. Or you can walk it in 10-15 minutes.

 

Taken yesterday at Dereham just after 45699 departed with it's first train of the gala.
