Since when has the SVR ever needed to `sell' their Autumn gala?

The public timetable leaflet is on the SVR website
    http://www.svr.co.uk/pdf/specialevents/AutumnGalaGateLeaflet2.pdf

The WTT has also just appeared in the working members area, no I am not going to publish it, so presumably ordered copies will be sent out when available.

What I can say is coaching stock enthusiasts will not be disapointed

All heritage railways have to "sell" their services, even successful ones. If you think otherwise, you are deluding yourself!

I suppose I must be then. I've been visiting the SVR since a very young age, and haven't missed an Autumn Steam gala in twenty something years. Point being that as much as I suggest potential improvements/changes to the line up, i'm really not bothered what locos visit, or which way they are facing as the gala is one of the premier events in the country. It sells itself in my opinion - where else can you see 24 hour running?

Aside from staff, the main people who need a WTT with utmost urgency are photographers, mostly hi-vis wearers, who (frequently) have little consideration for those around them.

I take it you mean how the sets don't 'match' the locos? Well, does it really matter?

Is it just me or do the Kidderminster departures on Sunday seem a bit thin on the ground?

13 departures (after 8:30) with four being autocoach yet looking at the link for the 2010 one there were 17.

Seems even less for Bewdley with only 10 towards Bridgnorth but that seems similar to 2010 which had 11.

Have to admit I don't usually pay much attention to timetables but that seemed to stand out to me!

Ther were 13 in 2013. There are a couple of gaps, 9.48 - 10.54 and 13.06 - 14.12 where the line is occupied when the locals reappear out of Arley. Also the goods does not appear at KD and shunts at intermediate stations. However I cant see where 4 extra trains could be fitted in. But then I just work to what I am givven

If people haven't already noticed, the Thursday service trains will be operated by 43924, 88 and 43106, with 1501 and 4566 on Taster FE and Freight train duties respectively.

You mean the freeloaders? No the WTT is essential for somebody like me whose main interest is chosing which loco and stock combinations to travel on and Ti plan my day in advance. I already have my ticket so eagerly await my WTT

What do you mean by "Freeloaders" ?

    I'm a Photographic Pass Holder since 1993.

I have been a member of SVR since 1968, and I own enough shares in SVR for a Gold Medallion First Class Pass as well as shares in 7812 and 4150 and Life Membership of 2857 and GW(SVR) Association.

What's your contribution to the railway apart from a ticket to a gala?

O for gods sake. Will you all keep willys locked away and boasting.
Lets just look forward to next week. Alright the info has been a bit late but thats through some slight teething problems with final details.
Do I count as a freeloader then? Yes Il be out photting during Thursday Friday and Sunday but at 5am Il be up and booking on as part of the shed team. At every event there will be freeloaders. Its a fact of society. Get over it.

Being a member of the SVR, owning shares in locomotives and the railway doesn't mean anything towards the gala operation. Somebody who buys a ticket is contributing towards the running of trains, hiring of locomotives etc for that day's services as well as a small percentage of the fare being profit which is reinvested in the railway. Not everybody has the money to invest into every charity etc for 50 years.

There are many people out there who think they can take pictures/videos whatever and think it's acceptable to pay 60p for an ice cream from which railway preservation will be sustainable.

If you are booking on, you are a volunteer and helping the railway to run, you can do as you want in my opinion as you are helping the operation. Freeloaders contribute nothing, money or effort wise, just receive personal gain whether that be praise, money or just a nice photo without spending a decent amount on allowing their subjects to carry on operating etc.
