    There are LE moves at Temple Meads on RTT which seem to indicate that assistance is not planned for this one. Hope I'm correct!

    The ruling gradient is in the Ludlow to Little Stretton direction. Coming south it's only a small bump up to Stokesay of around 1 in 250.

    70013 'Oliver Cromwell' plus 11 maroons (predominantly Mk.2s) away from Bristol and powering through Lawrence Hill station on time. No diesel today.
    What a wonderful sight it would have been .....I say would .....a Cross Country unit decided to pass in the opposite direction very slowly as the steam charter came into view. :rolleyes: <BJ>

    My view of the train was missing some steam effects as well (or should I say, I missed the steam altogether !!) :mad: <BJ>

    Thats like licking your finger and predicting the weather with it. For example, I was at Milford today sweating it because I had a 1 minute window to play with. As it turns out Braunton lost 8 minutes over two stops, left its water hole 20 minutes late, Planned timings going to rat poo. I adopt the "what the hell" attitude now when it comes to planing to try and not be bowled.

    SD & WCR really put on a great show today. 70013,Ray Churchill driving,11 on and no diesel. 70013 flattened the summits without a hint of a problem. Very good time-keeping throughout and some sustained fast running particularly on the return leg. Really excellent trip.
