Thanks to the 5305LA boys for producing and sharing this interesting video of a day in the life of 777 'Sir Lamiel' at the GCR recently.

By using GoPro cameras they have opened up loads of different angles - such as within the motion or even at the end of the fireman's shovel - to get a slightly unusual view of a steam operation.

Thanks again to all at 5305LA for the video - and for keeping the locos operational in the first place.

This video is absolutely brilliant in my view. If there were a NP award for the most original depiction of a steam locomotive at work then this would be a strong contender. I sincerely hope that someone at the NRM has been contacted about this so they can see the immaculate condition that Sir Lamiel appears to be in at present.

Indeed this video should be a contender for being put into the National collection.. it's as good as any BTF film, should 777 be displayed out of steam for any period, this would make a great video to display in front of it...
thinking of it.. wonder how this video would look in Black and White :)

I have created a B&W version of this.
Not sure if I would be allowed to upload/publish it though owing to copyright reasons.
Thinking of doing a sepia one as well.
