Thanks. Will the website indicate if it is going to be running, or can you update on here if you are in the know?

Most of the guys who can normally help are away this weekend (inc myself). Whichever loco is used for Saturday's Driver Experience course will be used for Sunday's service trains, so keep an eye on the webcams is all I can really say (unless Chris M is down this weekend?).

OK, thanks. Suspect I won't be around to watch the webcams on Saturday, but perhaps if I phone the railway someone might know.

Not sure who's in on Saturday, as I say unfortunately most of the usual faces are either at Snowdon or the SVR this weekend. If she not out this weekend, she will more than likely be out 28th and we're also looking at using her for October Cauldon weekend.

After that it's Santas & Mince Pies for her before her final weekend at next Feb steam Gala unless someone organises a Photo Charter before then.

Great to read that the N7 will be back, I can barely wait to be back at the line once it's running again! :D

    Its time to move on...

At CVR's request, it is suggested this thread focus on "gala threads/ locomotive news for the CVR and give the rest a couple of months to settle".
we support this request with discretion suggest the forum members do too.

Personal note and as a thread restarter: imho the CVR is a fantastic little railway, and considering Wolsztyn is becoming a rarer / more remote beast than it was a few years ago.. having the Tkh there is a great USP... it needs an Ol49 and 2 double deckers next... then start driver courses with it.

Thanks for sorting this out, we'll try and behave.

I'd just point out that there is a CVR Gala thread already on NP.

TKh already available for Driver Exp, including up the Cauldon Branch. One person already booked this, and I believe a second person has booked for the autumn.

OL49 be interesting gauge wise, but we'll have an S160 available for next year with 5197 due back in service around the Spring (though it is hoped for the Winter Steam event). Only one of 6046 / 5197 will be returning to Nene, so the second one will get to stay CVR for a bit.

The autumn tree clearance work has started. It should reduce the amount of 'green tunnel' and provide some much better photographic opportunities. We cannot fell trees when trains are running so no pictures of the Tkh today.

    That's some serious tree felling!

Strange how some lines have woken up this year after the winter storms, that thinning out the tree lines has to be done!

I've been banging on about it for ages on the MHR...... its only this year, when we've had trees across the line that "management" have woken up to the problem. though it seems most can't be done in house as the ruddy things are now too tall - so we have to pay the "squirrels" to do it!

Excellent work, well done, the CVR has always been good on lineside management.

Kind of what happened CVR, where 33102 had an encounter with a tree in 2012. After this it was decided to be proactive instead of reactive, and so a formal plan was created to removed trees between Consall and Froghall. Then after helping to run 1x Works Party, I seem to have become the Project Leader for this... Last winter we cleared from Iron Bridge to Podmore Cottage, this winter I'm aiming to clear from Podmore Cottage to Podmore Mill and burn off what was previously felled between Podmore Mill and London Bridge. Trying to get all trees felled this side of Christmas, as there maybe some news on Cheddleton Landslip in January that will require a high level of willing volunteers...

We delivered a few loads of logs to local pensioners at Glyndyfrdwy years ago when we were initially clearing the Carrog extension, worked wonders for PR :)

It would be nice for CVR to deliver logs as well but in some places they walk if you turn your back on them for an hour. Overnight and they are guaranteed to be gone. In other places access is so difficult they stay for years. I guess pensioners would like dry logs as well. The ones felled yesterday are for Christmas 2015.

Anyone know what happened to the Cheddleton North (Crossing) webcam? It appears to be back to normal now but earlier today it was aimed across the track to the other platform (not the crossing).
