I'll leave it until Wednesday before taking the plunge. I should still get a ticket in the post if not by email as it would still be three days before the off.

I see the tour has been taken off the main UK Day Trips page and also from the Booking Form. It's not looking promising!

Sadly it has been caped due to overrunning engineering work, new date expected to be confirmed in 30 days.

Uksteam states the trip has been cancelled, and is to be scheduled to a new date. Also disappeared off the RYTC Site. I imagine routing and/or timing issues...?

Oops! Sorry about that, hadn't looked onto the other page yet seeing someone had already known about the cancellation.

Oh well, Fort William with SRPS it is then, although a minus point is that the 06:10 start from Polmont is logistically challenging if anything happens to the 05:18 ex-Waverley...

Would an o/n in Falkirk not be an alternative plan ?

On paper yes, but I'm increasingly of the opinion that I should just save my money. There's something about walking through the streets of Falkirk at 6 in the morning in late October that doesn't really appeal to me. If the trip had a provisionally later departure time (it departed at 07:09 in 2011, although it was steam-hauled to the north), then I'd have little problem with it. My red line is that I'm not going to drive to Scotland, so that limits me to rail, public transport or foot.

None whatsoever, but the fact its now moribund until a later date, a couple of OT posts won't hurt.

From the RTC website "Please be advised we have rescheduled the postponed Easterling tour for 8th March 2015. We still have seats available in all classes. "
