Like popping its saddle tank back on along with its bunker and restoring the original profile of the front end- and re porta-ising it for the full on Austerity GTi effect?!

Thank you for finding that. What a very sorry sight! And for the list of locos thought to have been cut up at Ringwood.

On a much more positive note, the iron columns supporting the new Ropley up platform shelter were rescued from Ringwood station. My Granny grew up in Ringwood, just around the corner from the station, went to school in Christchurch by train (via Hurn), and moved back to the town when Grandad retired. My earliest memory is watching 34006 Bude leaving Ringwood with the last passenger train in 1966. It's great to see some small fragments of Ringwood get a new lease of life.

And here's a photo of 76027 at Ringwood station with a down train:

Has the 73096 move been postponed? Nothing on RTT yet. Or will it appear at short notice I wonder? I was hoping she might still be around Ropley yard for the Gala so I could see her one more time.

Are they the non conforming ones or is it coupling rods that are said to be not the right spec for further mainline use?

yeah, connecting rods down, pistons moved foreward and tied with rope and a tag on the cab handrail "sold to cashmores"
will the non appooved motion also have to be removed? welded coupling rods non spec expansion links etc, wasnt that why she was removed from the mainline list?

She did, but that still didn't stop her sitting down on the WCML - trying to run her at high speed, plain daft!

Though the Std 5 shouldn't be as bad..........................
