The weather forecast is not looking good for this event and also don't forget the 7mm festival at the Keighley Model Railway club on Sunday.....well worth a visit.

Really glad they're doing the classic 'Pines' combo twice on Saturday but I'm a little surprised the S160's only doing 1 run.

On my way up to Keighley now. Firing the Coal Tank tomorrow and firing The Volcano on Saturday. It's my first ever turn on 34092 and I can't wait!

Here are a few shots from the first day that, in the end, was blessed with sunshine. An excellent day all round! If there was ever a year that a visitor wasn't really needed, then this was it. Good to see the Volcano out again!

    Hi,

We were at the gala today, lovely railway, lovely staff and great selection of locos in traffic- particularly enjoyed the shed tour at Haworth, well worth doing and the gentleman who was running them was very informative. A day rover ticket is great- being able to visit all the museums/displays is great and provides really good value!

Unfortunately we ended up marooned at Oxenhope for 2 and a half hours following a failure of a loco at Haworth (the 4f?)- and we had no information about what was going on for quite a while! Initially we thought it was just timetable slippage, as the trains had run late from about mid-day onwards but turned out that one of the services ended up being cancelled.

Overall a nice day- but ended up being a bit of a long one for my wife who was pretty fed up having been sat so long at Oxenhope!

    Chris

That doesn't sound good, 2.5 hour delays on 5 mile line

Wonder if whatever failed is fixed for the weekend

    Still a great value line

KWVR reporting 45305 out for the weekend, replaced by 5820 today & 90733 tomorrow.

    No idea on fault.
