I visited the locations today of the video I posted earlier, here are some of the same locations, There is still a police presence around the area, and one taped off area across the line too. But it is generally open to the public. I have take photos to show the locations in the videos. The trees at the moment still have their leaves, and you see much less of the railway through them.
Here is a link to picture taken yesterday, with descriptions etc.. all from the fields on the line

The first trip (09:50) stopped for several minutes right below us at Three Bridges. Two members of the crew climbed out on to the roof and removed the top part of the chimney casing - apologies, am not an expert so not sure if that is the correct term. One of the onlookers said it might have been a clearance problem but nothing to confirm that either way. Have pics of the entire event which I will post ASAP.

First run (09:50) approaching Three Bridges just before that stop.

Left arrow from first pic below takes you to the rest in time order, including the stop "adjustments" on that first trip.

    First Run About To Stop

(Edited to add more photos to the above link in chronological order)

We are in the 1120 which still hasn't left at 1205. Been taking water since 1150. Even the original timetable would have been ambitious but never mind new track with steam

Seem to be problems with the size of the hose being used....

I am booked on the 13:00, looks like I will be away at 13:50. Apparently the Colnbrook shuttles are not heavily booked so if I miss my time on that I should get on ok

I can believe the chimney story, there are loads of foot marks on the roof around it

I saw the 1110 leave at 1120, but looks like we were on the same train at 1210.

Seemed to be using a garden hose to water it (not joking either)... In my previous post you can see the small pipe connected to the firehouse.

Box of the day (well night, well actually today I suppose it's day of the night)... 57's on the sleepers well loaded, as are many of its passengers.. Bit of a booze cruise.

Note the copper cap round the headlight of 4079 .. Er Pendennis Castle

Anyone else on the rail motor when the fight almost broke out? Or anyone going to admit they started it?

Was it a livery debate or did some Southern fans get past the barricades. ?

No, it was an argument as to which was the fastest. The Railmotor or a Gresley A4 pacific.

That was the one. I was right at the front of the coach, so not near it but it got quite heated.

I was on the last of the seats that faced forwards and I think someone was taking up more than one seat on the ones that faced inwards.

Actually that was on the way back when someone suggested the A4 was faster and the several people started laughing until someone else mentioned a West Country class at which point the train had to be stopped until the laughter died down.

I do seem to have spent rather long periods of my life eating my food through a straw! Cannot think why though......

Anyway, Big Al has the best explanation of the argument. :) :)

    ROFL.
