      I never expected to marry, but did. i found her in one of my trenches. It lasted ten years and then she went off with a sculptor. bit of a shock to the system from start to finish. No kids. I agree. Its not the only railway with a forgotten generation and in some case the truth has been deliberately white washed over. Book, YES.

        We often speculated which motorway bridge you were built into, as you'll recall you were being sought by men in suits! :D Very please to hear you got away and did well for yourself, although your chosen employment is sooooo far away from the Clifford we all knew. Still, we all did quite well, in our lives, despite all the trauma we have lived with.

      I don't belong to any rail preservation society as I'm an officer of the Heritage Railway Association, head judge of the Publications & Media Awards and i think it wise and sensible to be completely independent.

        Well, I carried on with preservation and even turned it into a business in Poland for 10 years, Got married when I was 49 and we had three kids, then she dumped me for a newer model, but I kept the kids. That's me, totally non Orthodox. I'm 60 now, and falling apart. Arthritis, and other related horrors have wrecked my chances of having any more fun.

        Yes, did put some money into 44123, do not remember how much, possibly £250 to £450.

        I have you down for £260, worth about £500 in today's money.

        With Mike passing away we have discovered a whole load of problems, all leading back to our move from the MHR in 1986. Here we are 30 years later trying to fix things which have been done over the past 20 years. I would like to add you to our Email list, so I can keep you up to date.
