    Pretty sure they communicate via walkie talkies but others might know better. Not sure what the gradient is from Barrow via Dalton to the summit at Lindal in Furness as it’s then downhill to Ulverston .

    Listening on the train, there was a small lineside fire reported in the Maryport area, so not surprised if a view was taken to minimise risk and gingerly take the climbs around Barrow. Overall, enjoyed it - all smoothly operated and another...
