Thank you Kevin for that comprehensively detailed update which must have taken you many hours to produce. It's great to hear that things are still...
I would guess it's most likely to be WCRC.
No chance of propelling a train out of any station for that sort of distance, let alone up the bank to Edge Hill.
I hope that's not a slur on all the others who regularly provide clear accounts of various tours? It could easily be taken that way.
And another picky thing, being referred to as Train Fanatics, will not go down well with the majority of members.
You got your whistle eventually. ;)
Just enjoyed an ice-cream at sunny Appleby whilst thinking of
@Oswald T Wistle ;)
Just for those who have not yet heard, it should be India Line tomorrow on the Chester Dalesman.
A 60mph path is most likely requested when the TOC in unsure of which loco is to be used.
Are they gauged for that route, were they and a support crew available?
But there is one early October and if the loco is not required elsewhere before then, then it's in the right place.
Is that a problem?
6233 may well have been the rostered loco but I'm sure that you are aware there are many variables as to why last minute changes happen.
Maybe the owners don't want to run at 65mph.
The oZ movement could of course be 44871 and the diesel.
My conclusion also hence pointing out the difference between 0Z and the more usual 5Z, loco and ecs.
The 0Z indicates light loco ie no support coach so making it very likely that the 5 will be unassisted on the train.
