This is to let everyone know that a group of us mainly based at Rudyard Lake and Ferry Meadows have taken on the task of moving this forward. I have agreed to act as chairman for a year and to support it as far as I can.

The intent is to try to emulate the 7.25 inch gauge society in promoting 10.25 inch gauge plus to record the history of the railways in the Uk at least. We also intend to cover the other gauges above 7.5 inches and smaller than 15 inch gauge as their numbers are pretty small at least at the moment.

We will act as caretakers for a year and then open it up to a new committee. We have contacted all previous members where we had their details and carried forward their membership to 2011. Subscrition has been set at £5 to start with. We are unlikely to publish magazines to start with but as many will have noticed the new issue of Miniature railways carries lots of information. Meetings are also planned at host railways.

The new society website is at http://www.ten-and-a-quarter-railway-society.co.uk/

Comments, members and suggestions are welcome and offers of help even more so.

The agm of the society will be held at Rudyard on Saturday 14th of May at 2.15 in the visitor centre by the lake. Members will have a complimentary rover ticket for the day on the Rudyard Lake Steam Railway and are advised to park at Rudyard Station collect their ticket and take the 2pm train to the meeting and alight at the Dam. Then return by any convenient train.
We do need some members to put themselves forward for the committee as I and one or two others will be standing down.
