    The 11 coach Pendolino is out and about on test today between Warrington and Crewe.

    Is this unit actually going to be put into service, or just stored until the next Franchise round? Logically Virgin should use it, but I thought I had read somewhere that was not necessarily the case?

    Goodness knows. Someone is going to have to start taking decisions soon, because in addition to the new units, there are pairs of extra coaches to add to most of the existing fleet, and that's not a trivial job.

    You can see where the Virgin "shield" would be mounted on the nose, but that doesn't mean anything.
