I still have at least 4 days planned for going out photographing but 2012 is rapidly drawing to a close and I've created a set on Flickr with my favourite shots of the year. It's hard to pick one but there have been some very enjoyable sights. Often when you're behind the camera it's hard to actually take the photograph when you're enjoying what you're watching so much. I think that in late January this happened exactly when watching 44871 and 45407 climb towards Shap summit on a beautifully cold day - so cold that even once the sun was up it didn't melt the frost for hours. I enjoyed taking my shot, at Greenholme, more than any other this year.

The set is here: 2012 - Favourites - a set on Flickr

Many thanks Neil, an excellent portfolio of well considered compositions, a joy to look at. My favourite? hard to say, they are all superb photographs, I will return to view again and again.

    cheers

Thank you Alan, I'm glad you've enjoyed looking at them. Hopefully 2013 will be a good year too.
