Discussion in 'On Track.' started by Karen Willans, Apr 15, 2014.

    Latest loco shed work

A three person working party this weekend, although still a lot achieved.

    No 2 Dolgoch
    - Painted the rods.
    - Continued with paintwork repair on the boiler barrel

    No 4 Edward Thomas
    - Prepped and painted the front and rear buffer beams.
    - Installed both mudholes (the boiler plugs had already been fitted).
    - Rebuilt safety valves.
    - Fitted fusible plugs
    - Moved ashpan into the works, ready for some repair work
    - The engine is now ready for hydraulic test.

No 6 Douglas (in temporary livery for a photo charter - download the booking form for further information)
    - Refitted dome cover
    - Started to prepare for air pump removal

    No 7 Tom Rolt
    - Ground long tube ends in smokebox with an angle grinder, as they were too long for the expanding tool.
    - Continued with tube expansion in the smokebox - only the top row of tubes are waiting to be expanded.

Thanks to N Fieldhouse for the update and photos.
