2014 - May 27th - Duncan Day on the Talyllyn Railway

Тема в разделе 'On Track.', создана пользователем Karen Willans, 30 май 2014.

Our Skarloey Railway friends pay a us visit!

Abergynolwyn Station was host to a very special set of visitors last Tuesday. Duncan spent the day entertaining the many families who came along to enjoy our unique 'Duncan Day'. Peter Sam, Rheneas, Ivo Hugh and Rusty were all there to join in the fun.

Our regular compere 'Mike on the Mic' kept everything under control from the Blockpost. The activities tent was full of children making badges, drawing, enjoying the balloon shapes (note the Guard's flag on Duncan's Shuttle Train!) and having their faces painted. We also had a little railway running up and down the West platform with a variety of engines to go behind. There were plenty of Skarloey Railway stories to listen to in between trains.

After arriving with his goods train, Rusty was in charge of shuttles to Nant Gwernol. Duncan trundled up and down the station giving rides in his Guard's Van. Peter Sam, Rheneas and Ivo Hugh popped in to say 'Hello' as their trains went past. We even had a surprise visit from a Hercules plane flying low overhead!

Many thanks to everyone who helped organised the day and provided the entertainment. Looking forward to the next Duncan Day on Thursday 21st August already!
