2014 - No 1 Talyllyn and the Victorian Train

Discussion in 'On Track.' started by Karen Willans, Sep 18, 2014.

    Back in the saddle (tank)

No 1 Talyllyn was released back into passenger service today on our Victorian Train experience.

Possibly tempting fate, she was crewed by Driver Andy and Fireman Jacinta who were on the loco when a detached nut in the cylinder caused extensive damage to the motion earlier in the year. Thanks to a generous donation from TRPS member Bryce Lee, the repair work was carried out by the Ffestiniog Railway so Talyllyn could be ready in time for her birthday on 24th September 2014.

The Victorian Train is timetabled to take it's time up the line, so there were plenty of opportunities to take photos along the way.

Thankfully all went well on the first solo trip and Talyllyn can be said to be 'officially back in service'.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped in anyway to get our oldest loco back for the start of the 150th Celebrations.

Photos thanks to Darren from Tywyn Photographers who took the photos with Andy in, and Andy Young, taking time out from driving No 1.
