2015 December - Santa Specials

Discussion in 'On Track.' started by Karen Willans, Dec 21, 2015.

It’s that time of year when Tywyn Wharf is covered in sparkly lights and silver band music echoes around the Fathew Valley.

The smell of mince pies, mulled wine and steam engines fills the air. Happy times to spend with family and friends.

The weekend started on Friday evening with our annual Carol Train. Hauled by No 6 Douglas and No 4 Edward Thomas, the revellers were treated to music, mince pies, mulled wine and carol singing at Abergynolwyn.

Santa came to visit ‘Plas Nadolig’ on Saturday and Sunday with his cohort of Elves. The Santa Specials were well filled and it was lovely to hear the band playing Christmas tunes at Wharf. The Santa Specials are also running on Christmas Eve, find out more from the Santa Specials webpage if you fancy joining us for a magical experience.

Many thanks are due to Kes and her team, plus everyone else who made Wharf and ‘Plas Nadolig’ (Dolgoch Station in disguise) look amazingly Christmassy.

If you are stuck for the ideal Christmas present for the railway enthusiast in your life, our Shop at Wharf is open daily until Christmas Eve. Opening times and more information is available on their webpage - http://talyllyn.co.uk/shop

Need a break from the TV and family board games over the holidays, or just want to escape for a couple of hours? We are running daily Mince Pie Specials in our heated trains up until January 2nd.
