Celebrating 150 years of the Talyllyn Railway by burying a time capsule at Abergynolwyn

On Friday July 3rd the Sesquicentenarian’ departed Wharf with a host of VIP guests, followed by a second train at 11.40. They travelled to Abergynolwyn for the ceremonial burying of a time capsule with contributions from local schools. This was followed by buffet lunch. The combined trains then returned to Wharf doubleheaded by No 1 Talyllyn and No 2 Dolgoch.

Our special guests Timothy West and Prunella Scales were on hand to bury the time capsule in the platform at Abergynolwyn. The capsule was filled with various items by the school children. Who knows what people will think when they reopen the capsule in 50 years time?
