Happy New Year from us here in Tywyn!

Unsurprisingly a lot of work has taken place on our saloon carriage 20 over the holidays as it's in the warm paintshop. A small team of volunteers have been working hard to replace several rotten panels, put the new beading on and start painting in earnest. The biggest problem so far has been removing damaged bolts between the metal underframe and wooden frame - various implements have been used to try and remove the stubborn bolts.

Luckily for the Bodgers working on Van 22, currently in the freezing cold North Shed, it should be moving over to the paintshop this week. Thanks to their hard work rebuilding the carriage, it's in a state to start varnishing inside.

Our locos are now having a rest until February. Work has started on winter maintenance on No 4 Edward Thomas. No 7 Tom Rolt is jacked up in the works waiting for it's wheels to be reprofiled. Loco working parties will resume in January.
