Lovely clip that one. But unless my ears were deceiving me it was a pity to hear the DL giving her a gentle nudge unlike the outbound videos where all seemed quiet at the back. Different driver, different attitude. That's the uncertainty that rankles a bit and makes booking so problematic for me. But I accept that that's my problem.

And mine - good to hear the diesel on tickover in the earlier clips though.

The 47 wasn't notched up too high but there was the distinct smell of oil in the air. It was late, after a prolonged stop at Basingstoke. Could have been they wanted to make up time, or it could have been they couldn't get a good fill and were preserving the water a little.

A rare steam run that had no glitches whatsoever. The highlight for me was the fast running from Woking to Waterloo. Would love to see a clip as we raced through Surbiton staion. Well done to all concerned including the Swanage Railway.

Was going to do Surbiton, but last time there I had a shed load of hassle with an over zealous SWT station assistant who insisted that tripods on platforms were illegal and called the BTP.

Blimey, lots of you at BFN yesterday, I'll need to start charging you rent if you are going to infest my patch.

I always have a copy of this on my phone to show to over zealous staff, if necessary, when I'm out filming.

Not had many problems apart from a couple of requests to move my tripod behind the yellow line.
Interesting to see the request not to wear Hi-Vis jackets. So many photographers seem to wear them nowadays.

I guess the driver was bored and fancied something to do. Can you begin to guess how bored he must be. You imagine going to work, sat at your desk and nothing to do for hours except look out the window. Not the most demanding of jobs.

But his window is an ever changing vista. Unless of course he is in the end coupled to the train, and then all he sees is C1
