30053 at Swanage

    Does anybody know which way M7 NO 53 is currently facing at Swanage thanks

    It currently faces north, or towards Wareham, unless they have turned it, which is unlikely.

    I can confirm it was north facing on 26th September when I was last down there.

    When the M7 [No. 53] was last in service earlier this week it was facing Swanage.
    Most of the time when we have our tank engines [M7, BR Std 4s & 6695] hauling 5 coaches they need to be chimney facing Swanage - so they can water straight after coupling onto the stock [it's that tight].
    Generally we only turn tank locos to face West [Wareham] when we run less than 5 coaches or, during Galas, when we have 'turn over' locos and want some variety.
    80078, after some running repairs, was back in service today but not sure when it comes out of traffic again.
