Here's a couple of sequences of 3237 with two Assistant Rear Shoving Engines, filmed (?) on Monday 26 April 2010, the ANZAC Day public holiday. Train weight is 10/400 tonnes (approx). Ruling grade is 1 in 30, for about 12 miles.

3237 - One of Beyer Peacock's finest by the looks of it. Not bad for a 4-6-0 loco which entered service in February 1893 apparently.
The water gin behind the tender contains roughly 7,000 gallons [31,800 litres], if I remember correctly, which equates to about 33 Tons of water but don't know the tare weight of this vehicle. I notice that one of the nine coaches is a 12 wheeler - which must be quite heavy on its own [50 tonnes empty?]. The load 10 gross weight would be heavier than 400 tonnes - surely?
