33103 Swordfish on hire to the Bluebell

    33103 Swordfish has been hired by the Bluebell for use on the Northern Extension Trains, should be interesting, I for one are looking forward to it.

    If 33103 is to make a visit to the BB what about running another round trip for diesel cranks? It happen when 73136 made a visit the other year.

    The official line from Roy Watts is "No date has yet been set for the end of its hire but there is currently no planned use for it beyond the completion of all works associated with the Northern Extension, which will be some time after the opening."

    (My emphasis). Make of that what you will.

    A "bagpipe" with 4VEP, 3417 already owned by the Bluebell on a Push Pull run (or several) would be sure to generate some welcome funds to the Bluebell!

    Just a thought!

    I think it will have to happen, it will remind me of the old EG and Weymouth trains I used to go on.
