Two wonderful Merchant Navy pacifics that are both still with us.

To me their finest hour was on 24 July 1964, and I am posting this a few minutes after 35009 had arrived at Waterloo on the up Atlantic Coast Express on that day.

24 July 1964 is given a special feature in my SR 1960s Steam Locos Memoirs book - of which I now have a 709 page first draft completed.

There are three other pages for that date, but this is the main spread and covers two wonderful Atlantic Coast Express runs.

I have had to crop a very low res copy from my designer's pdf to make it more manageable, so borders and part of the right hand page have gone. And I've covered three photos and their captions that would be wrong of me to circulate without the various permissions I have to use those photos being extended.

It needs viewing at the full size I have posted it here, and that is smaller than the books full A4 size.
