Feel sorry for the loco crews, predicted temperatures of 26 degrees in the south on Wednesday (was 27). Also I think the old fire risk chestnut will come back to haunt us, been warm/hot with not much rain in the south for a week or two now.

Lucky you! It's been nudging 30 degrees here today with more to come the rest of the week. Not to mention the last couple of dry weeks. Humidity is 30% & dropping. Rain? What's that? A big no no around here.

I'm thinking of heading down to the Bathampton area to see these two trains. Can anyone recommend good viewing / videoing spots?

There's a speed limit under the Dundas Aquaduct for most steam locos, in both directions, so accelerating away from there might be quite good.

Just out of interest on these two runs. Where would they be serviced? Just thinking that at Barton Hill you currently have, 5029, 6024 and 60163 on shed. I remember reading on here last year, (5029 being unable to undertake the Torbay Express's thread from last year) that there is a restrictive amount of room on site for servicing / storing?

Would be an amazing sight, if both Clan Line and 70000 were serviced there. 5 Loco's in one place in the 40th anniversary of mainline steam!

Now you are talking great guns.

Admitting this would be one hell of an amazing sighting

Not 100% sure but isn't 5029 on St. Philips Marsh?

I've just realised 60163 is now at Southall reading the LE Movement thread! Ignore that bit....still possible 4 engines in one location.

No.7. - Thinking about it further your maybe correct. I remember 5043 and 4965 were based their prior to the Cornishman run. But their is hope!

Saw 35028 through Theale at 10.45. Nobody else there, usually get one or two. Seems I am the only one to have sent an update about this tour today as well, also no mention of this tour on this thread. Is it true what people say? People are loosing interest in the regular repeat tours? Particularly when the same loco is used. Hope to see the return tonight.

Thanks for the update, I was just down the line at Woolhampton so didn't send one in as it's only a mile or so away. Er, 3 or 4 miles actually having checked but not too far away.

I went to Midgham station this morning, good for west bound but not for eastbound so may try somewhere different this evening . Is the water stop taken at the station in Theale? If so that would be a good place.
Overdosing on steam this week, Tangmere at Abergavenny sat. & again at Basingstoke last night, Clan Line today & Tornado on my way home to Wales tomorrow hopefully.

Both train about on time through the Avon Valley. 35028 held up being a unit.

You are right,Buseng...although we do seem to have more interest from people living 'up north' than us in the south.
    Familiarity breeds contempt..
I once found this with keep seeing the Flying Scotsman in the south year in year out-until one day it's not around anymore.Like losing a member of the family, you regret it afterwards.
