Clan Line will be going to Crewe Heritage Centre for its 2 month 'annual outage' light engine on Saturday morning
21st August, leaving Stewarts Lane about 0845 - No timings yet, and believed to be going via Nuneaton on the WCML.

Yes, we are trusting you Northerners with her.

    So go easy.

Absolutely NO photos to be shown to her of 35029 in her current state.

Don't even mention it, or the fact that she will be almost as far North as the place where that dreadful act occurred.

Engine+support coach plus a Class 67 diesel. Not sure if the 67 is in front or behind Clan Line.

Sorry no other info as yet.

patently for being so far north she is in the wrong livery , especially given the esteemed company she'll be keeping , Would you prefer Maroon or Black ?

No No. Don't do this to me!

She'll come back with a hooter instead of a whistle, and jammed open drain cocks if we are not careful.

Don't worry, she can keep the funny wheels as they're from Sheffield.

I think Taw Valley looked almost like a proper loco when she was red, so Clan Line should look Ok in maroon.

She's not going as far as Liverpool, so I think the wheels are safe.

Now she's escaped from the land of Hoppy Beer and Jellied Eels, I wonder if she will stay and do some real work?

FTR passed, so injectors must be working. Just received the latest timings:-

    Watford Junction 1050
    Tring 1110
    Bletchley 1131
    Rugby 1259
    Nuneaton (Water) 1420 Dep.
    Stafford 1526
    Crewe 1626 Arr.

Box will be on the back. Clan Lines nameplates have been taken off + electric lamps - must be a lot of tea leaves up North!

Oh god the Crewe lot will stick some stupid name like 'City of Clan' on her and she'll become 46028.

But being sensible it's great to hear that she's passed her FTR after a couple of false starts.

I've been told why she's going to Crewe!

It's the Crewe Heritage Real Ale Weekend coming up.

That's why she's on the move. Going up for a few beers with some mates. That, presumably, is why she passed the FTR, (ie injectors working again?). Won't be able to drink the beer without them.

Not sure if the other locos going to the event are the Princess and the Duchess, making it a hen weekend. Be a bit worried if the Duke turns up and has one too many. End up with 71028 turning up somewhere in few months time!

If the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe pops over for the weekend, the result could be a little "Clan Castle"
