To quote a volunteer the rail festival at the Berlin Park Railway on June 8th 9th was a ' once in a
lifetime event'. This 2' gauge railway has a 7km network around Wuhlheide park.
It is easily accessible from Wuhlheide S-Bahn station.

A very intensive timetable featured an unprecedented 4 engines in steam, including double heading
of different combinations and top and tail workings. At any time there were 3 and sometimes 4 trains in
operation on the system. 3 diesels were also used over the weekend.
At lunchtimes the steam engines were lined up at the works for photos.

    Steam:-
Merapi (fresh from works) 0-8-0T Hannomag 10409/1925
Luise 0-6-0T Polish Las type Fablok 3043/1953
Klaus 0-4-0T (formerly Lowa) Karl Marx VEB 16045/1950
Brigadelok 0-8-0T Feldbahn type No 1138

    Diesel:-
    Gunther 0-6-0 VEB type V10C No 199-102
    Ute 0-6-0 VEB type Ns4 No 199-103
    0-4-0 Type Ns2f

Yes I am an active volunteer
Many years ago I was in Karlsruhe, and seem to recall there was a steam operated 2ft gauge line in a park there. Does it still exist, and if so what engines are there? I seem to recall an 0-8-0T of some description.

No I do not currently volunteer
A late friend of mine went to the park railway in Karlsruhe in 2004. Looking through his pictures, the only steam loco is a 1939 Henschel 040 - done up in a "wild west" guise.
