Wow, whats the future for 50050 ?
It's been locked up in Yeovil since it came off the mainline.

Bit out the blue this one. Good news I have to say though. 400/50 has spent far to long in the shadows, not really helped by its previous managment. Looks like the West Mids is the place to go now for a bit of 50 action

Well that's good news, there's a fleet of 100mph mainline class 50's coming together here.

D9000 Locos Limited done a perfectly good job of looking after it, it was them that put it back on the mainline and them that got it on the front of a VSOE working and various railtours.

If you want to blame someone for the condition it found itself in when it entered the D400 Funds care you need look no further than Fragonset.

From various well placed sources DNLL weren't the best of people to look after it even their chief engineer admitted he knew nothing about 50's. Look at the state of 50002 when they 'looked after' it hasn't worked a train since 1998.

If that's what you wish to believe then fair enough, simple fact is DNLL put 50050 back on the mainline, the locos (former) owner was quite happy with the work they done on it and how they looked after it. 50002 was a poor loco to start with and should never have even been considered for mainline running
