What a lovely day we had yesterday, the Castle sounded great at Shap Wells and looked stunning with Tyseley's usual top service of matching stock :) Credit to them all at Tyseley ;)
Instead of waiting for 5043 on the return we ventured back over the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway where Lancashire & Yorkshire No.957 was in charge of a special charter service which starred the unveiling of the newly restored Pullman coach "Ann" at Oakworth station yesterday evening. The afternoon consisted of:
    - 957 running Light Engine to Oxenhope at Top Field
    - 957 on the return again at Top Field
    - 85 at Haworth Station
    - 957 climbing Oakworth Bank & at the Station during the unveiling.
    - 85 at Top Field

I've uploaded some of the above shots and the rest can be viewed on the Part 3 DVD.
Many thanks to Kieran for doing all the driving around :D

That looks like a good climb of Shap, at a guess from the sound 5043 was doing about 50 mph past Shap Wells in your video with 10 coaches, say aroud 350 tons. Has anyone done a quick estimate of power output? I checked in one of C J Allen's books and he says that back in 1926 5000 Launceston Castle with 415 tons was only doing 32 mph at Scout Green and was down to 20 mph at the summit.
