As the launch into service is set for 01.04.15 (or so I have been told), I would gone for 55023 SHERGAR, keeping within the race horse theme.

55009 was supposed to have carried a Shergar namplate during its long overhaul during the '90s. Maybe its 55015's turn now?!

Wowzer! Have to say I was wondering what was meant when they said Deltic 22 would return in an 'iconic' livery. It really does look ruddy fabulous!

I don't think we'll see it out of Scotland unfortunately, Mr Walker has had it on hire up Glasgow way for quite a long time now, who knows how long the work will last. It all pays the bills.............but I'd love to see it, both engines, good load, galloping down the ECML

Given that the pattern of work up there is usually 3 or 4 days busy then a week or more off, surely there should be space in the schedule for a mainline tour or two? Is it that the days she is required are not known long in advance?

Scarborough Spa Express anyone???? The Scottish work is weekend, the SSE midweek. Maybe the light engine movement costs are prohibitive.

Is it worth risking the bread and butter work for a day of cake ?
