55189 has been making good progress into BR Black. still a fair bit to do but its getting there.

    Planned Photo charter dates are:-

Monday 23 February Russ Hillier/Geoff Silcock

    Tuesday 24th Russ Hillier/Geoff Silcock

    Wednesday 25th Russ Hillier/Geoff Silcock

    Thursday 26th Richard Newton

    Friday 27th Richard Newton

    Saturday 28th Martin Crease

    Sunday 1st March Martin Crease

For details of the photo charters please send SAE to:- 30742 Charters, 388 Priory Road, Shirley, Solihull. B90 1BE , or ring Russ Hillier 07831 217061

The funds generated from the photo charters will be used to offset the costs of replacing the crown stays and renewing the axle bearings. It is intended to have this work carried out as quickly as possible with the aim of having the engine back in traffic in Blue as CR 419 for the 2010 running season. The engine is mechanically in good condition with the exception of the main axle bearings which require replacement.

    Some photos off progress:-

Nice to see 55189 coming together but one question / hope - any chance of re-uniting 55189 with its 64C shedplate ?
