Just got the Steam Dreams email update. SNG on the Bristol and Bath trip from Victoria on the 1st, via Staines Ascot Reading. I will definitely be out for that one!

It will be nice if it goes down the Newbury line, lots of nice spots to see it down there.

Although it's a shame that 70013 is not ready yet, 60007 is a very welcome substitute. She has long been a favourite of mine. My dad has a treasured Hornby Dublo model of her in post-war LNER blue as No 7 with cut-away splashers. Then my first trip over the S&C was behind her on a "Merrymaker" trip in 1982 - magic!

I see times are on uksteam for 60007’s first run on the 27th, very similar to last years times and what a good run (going south) that was. Even with the early start the time on the Newcastle / Durham / Darlington legs are very tight but I expect it will be onto the slow again at Northallerton. However running from York to Connington was very good in 2009 and the schedule looks promising.

We are hoping to pass this run on a Uk railtour's diesel Excursion we are doing from Clapham Jct to York. It will be nice to see 60007 racing past us in the other direction. Hope the timings work out right. There are also 2 other railtours heading to York on the 27th. A busy day at York station for charter trips!

Going to be a busy month for 60007. Also booked to work extra tours on 12th and 16th December.

That is great news about the 12th. I am on the Cambridge - York jaunt the day before so get the whole weekend behind her. I gather that it will still be steam hauled on the return unlike last year, as will need to get the loco in position for the tour from Norwich on the 16th. I wonder if the problems encountered last year in being able to get a platform at Kings Lynn will be happen again this year?

On 12th Dec, is that in place of 70013, Kings Lynn-Cambridge-Kings Cross for RTC?

On 16th Dec, is that in place of 5690, Norwich-Peterborough-York for RTC? I guess that saves some light-engine moves, or at least, getting 60007 to Norwich should be simpler than getting 5690 there from Bury.

Some of the details are TBC. Not sure about the Down leg of the 'The Chrismas Fenman', was booked for another loco (not 60007) but things are moving rapidly at present.

It was booked according to the RTC website as 70013 and not 5690 as stated on UK Steam.

As for 60007 potentially only doing the run into London on the 12th, as 70013 was booked to do this throughout and then the trip from Norwich on the 16th, I can see no real reason why this would be changed. We will have to wait and see…….

Confirm that 60007 is only working the 'up' journey on the 12th.

Loco needs to end up at Southall. I understand the plan was for another loco to work the 'up' train. I don't know if that will happen given the limited availablility of 75 mph locos at present.

Hmmm, 15 out of 17 posts have nothing to do with "Cathedrals Express 1st December" now that's got to be a record.

Train passed Egham outbound ontime in the usual slot, despite scheduled services running late. Train is hauled by Sir Nigel Gresley.
