It says "Walk-in tickets will work on a first come service, via a queuing system at Wansford Station."

No mention of whether those of us who use public transport can pay on the day at Peterborough.

On the homepage it says: "For those attending as Walk-In tickets on the day, please be advised that these will be limited and on a first come, first served basis. Tickets on the day will be purchased through our Travelling Ticket Inspectors after you have boarded from any of our stations."

Conflicting info for anyone joining at Wandsford but I guess that means if you board anywhere else you just get a ticket once onboard?

Was visiting the family graves today, some three miles or so south of the NVR - and was really surprised that I could hear SNG's chime whistle so easily!

I went down to the Nene Valley railway today Saturday 7th April to see and ride behind 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, now superbly painted in BR Express Blue Livery

Really enjoyed my first ever filming visit to the Nene Valley yesterday, platform tickets at £5 a bargin and the trains looked full, hopefully it will be a success for everyone! My video, photos to follow...

Very nice, but I always preferred the look that UoSA had - like it had earned its keep, if you know what I mean.

You can pay on the day if you join at other stations, subject to capacity on the train. The first train has been especially busy but after that you should be OK. Some footage from Friday: (3) 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' at the Nene Valley 7-4-23 - YouTube

Great atmosphere that the NVR, first time I have visited for a long time, staff are helpful and friendly, pretty run through through the countryside and SNG at the front of the train, what more could you want?

Count us out then. I am not going to make the long journey by rail on the basis that we might not get tickets

I didn't travel on the train yesterday and just visited the platform at Wansford, but my observation was that the first two trains looked full, with more space on board later in the day. Someone else might be able to confirm, but possibly the pre-booked tickets are rovers rather than one trip on a specific train? I did notice the same people getting off to take photos at Yarwell junction on my two visits there.

Very nice to see 60007 looking very smart back in blue, and good to see the railway and lineside very busy. I managed to capture it on Friday and Saturday between work commitments.
On Friday leaving Peterborough with the 1710 back to Wanfsord:

And on Saturday at Yacht Club crossing between Orton Mere and Overton.

Some great pictures appear. Unfortunately the visit clashed with a family holiday meant I've not been around...

Presumably you'd also not be happy if you arrived, bought a ticket and were unable to travel because the train was full and standing with pre-booked tickets and people who bought tickets on the day at Wansford. It's a no win situation!

There is currently a TSO under overhaul at Cranmore, which is being converted to being a disabled coach. There's also a brake vehicle out of action with bad wheel flats. At one stage it was hoped both might have been ready for Easter to provide additional capacity, but sadly this hasn't been the case.

You'd have been ok today. Plenty of "pay on the day" tickets available.

D'you think the thoroughly miserable weather forecast for today caused that? I nearly came today but decided against it. I might come next Sunday but being the last day, it might be a bit mad if the weather's good (which current forecasts say it will be).
