Can anyone help with a loose end concerning the Cathedrals Explorer when UoSA failed twice? On Day 2 it limped into Shrewsbury with a big end problem and then onwards to Crewe where the Crewe Heritage folk did wonders to get her repaired for Day 5. Then she was taken off at Doncaster on Day 8 en route to Victoria.

Little was said on the train except that she had failed, so for the record, can anyone enlighten me? The groan when it was announced echoed down the Royal Mail depot but it seems UoSA got back to York with no problem and I see was in rude health again on the CME on the 27th.

It seems to have re-failed. This mornings Royal Duchy was diesel hauled out of Bristol TM. Realtime suggests that 60009 got as far as Hereford on its LE movement from Carnforth. Any know what the problem is and its prospects for hauling next weeks Royal Duchy?
