76079 hauled the dining service yesterday evening from Grosmont to Battersby. Sounded smashing storming through Egton Station last night, although I forgot to pick up my iPhone on the station and only discovered it when arriving near Battersby for my next shot. Running out of petrol and having a shot set with a cracker of a sunset I decided to leave it, no trains were running on the branch so didn't expect anyone to be on the station. Waited a while and nothing turned up... Decided to head for Battersby station just in case I hadn't beaten it, and guess what was just arriving alongside me? Anyway thanks for to the Sat Nav that was able to take me to a petrol station that was actually open (great when they're working correctly) ended up in Newham and then made my way back to Egton for my iPhone only to discover it had gone... Somebody had picked it up and taken it home with them, didn't help having a buisness phone on me that was dead to the world. Parents were back home worrying as I said i'd be home by 10, reporting me as missing etc... didn't roll in till gone 12. Quite a waste of time last night for what I got. Anyway just been to collect the iPhone. Will have to try the Esk Valley again next week and try not be so stupid!

Better check if it runs next week as I thought this was the last Sat night run due to getting dark.
    Excellent shot though.
I was on the train in Car 79

7th August only - the Saturday, and that's the last one for this year, but there is a lunch train planned for October.
